I just had to snap this quick photo of Jilly this afternoon - i turned off the flash because i did not want to wake her up :)
Now that the other 3 kids are in school - Jillian and I spend most of the day together. Ever since the first day of school, Jillian says to me upon returning home from the morning drop-offs "it's just you and me!". At first, she would ask if it was time to go to school to pick up the kids and then she would ask if Helen was coming home for lunch but now she has realized that while the other 3 are in school - she has mommy ALL to her self. The past 2 days that we've dropped Helen and Jayden off at school (Graham rides the bus) - as SOON as the car door shuts - she says to me with a huge grin on her face and a lift in her voice "It's just you and me!".
She rarely takes a nap now in the afternoon so I've really enjoyed this extra time with her. Today as we were eating lunch together, I found her crawling up in my lap for a snuggle. Sometimes we just sit down together and talk or read or watch TV together. It is rare for me to slow down, let alone SIT down but I believe she is teaching me to slow down and take it all in. Since the kids have been in school, we've enjoyed a smoothie at the local coffee shop, library story time, walks in the downtown area, Wal-Mart trips (of course!), lunch and shopping in the "big" city, and time outside exploring.
Now that she's napping - I better get to work! .... first a shower (yes - it's almost 2:30pm) :) then maybe a bit of sewing :)
