den helder

the view from the top of a submarine (Tunijn) - in the distance you can see the island of Texel (we haven't visited the island yet -but i've heard it's similar to mackinac island but cars are allowed on the island). the white objects to the right are the ferry boats going back and forth from the mainland to the island.

down the hatch!

helen at the control panel

helen did NOT want help climbing up the ladder on the way out of the submarine

some of the sleeping quarters... this submarine had enough beds for 68 people

riding bikes inside the marinemuseum (i was trying to take the picture while holding jillian at the same time!)

helen rides the bike

graham's turn!

can you find the "kid" in this picture? :)

yesterday we drove to the western tip of holland to a town called den helder. 1.5 hours in the car to get there... then we spent a few hours at a marine museum. on the way home we drove over one of the "land bridges" that connects the northern parts of holland together. ..... via another 1.5 hour car ride. :)

What fun! When you guys come back home, you'll need to visit the sub in Manitowoc and compare notes. All the 'kids' will enjoy that too!

Just love all the pictures from your travels/adventures!
