2 parrot-type birds on the tree outside our bungalow

jillian helps me load the dishwasher... this dishwasher was so small we had to run it after EVERY meal... but hey ... at least i did not have to wash the dishes by hand!

the 1 nice thing about jet lag (and a very loud bird chirping outside our bedroom window) - sunrise in curacao

sisterly love..... will it be this "sisterly" 11 hours later

jillian needs a hairbow!

lunch on the plane

at the airport in amsterdam

here is part 1 of our curacao adventure..... 10.5 hour plane ride, 1 hour layover in aruba, 20 minute plane ride to curacao = an amazing final destination and family vacation.
i really enjoyed just spending time with our family... there was no internet, no tv, no phones.... just the kids, some crazy games of Uno, reading books, snorkeling, watching sunsets, playing in the sand, and swimming in the pool
picture set #2 coming soon!

valentine's day fun

pink sunset on valentine's day
reading cards from grandma and grandpa

jillian got her card open all by herself!

jayden draws a heart on the paper

we made our own valentines

my little valentines :)

we decided to put the valentines up on the window in the kitchen

den helder

the view from the top of a submarine (Tunijn) - in the distance you can see the island of Texel (we haven't visited the island yet -but i've heard it's similar to mackinac island but cars are allowed on the island). the white objects to the right are the ferry boats going back and forth from the mainland to the island.

down the hatch!

helen at the control panel

helen did NOT want help climbing up the ladder on the way out of the submarine

some of the sleeping quarters... this submarine had enough beds for 68 people

riding bikes inside the marinemuseum (i was trying to take the picture while holding jillian at the same time!)

helen rides the bike

graham's turn!

can you find the "kid" in this picture? :)

yesterday we drove to the western tip of holland to a town called den helder. 1.5 hours in the car to get there... then we spent a few hours at a marine museum. on the way home we drove over one of the "land bridges" that connects the northern parts of holland together. ..... via another 1.5 hour car ride. :)
