This afternoon we went to the pool as a family to swim and tonight at dinner we were talking about our afternoon at the pool. Graham was talking about swimming next to Ross ---- He said "Dad and I were swimming next to each other. Dad was swimming freestyle and I was swimming breast stroke. I was beating Dad -------- And just so you know.... I wasn't even swimming my fastest breast stroke!" He said this in the most serious manner too :) We all laughed! Knowing that these kids are better swimmers than we are for sure!
At yesterday's meet, Jayden and Graham both swam the 1650. They volunteered to swim and were so excited to get the chance to swim a 1650..... Guess endurance sports run in the family!
So after a FULL meet of events, both boys swam the 1650. They finished in about 26 minutes. So, today at the pool, Ross and I decided to see how long it would take us to swim a 1650 and let's just say that BOTH boys beat my time!!!! And I was really trying my best :) Ross, however did swim a little faster than the boy's time. Helen also swam a 500 at the end of the swim meet yesterday in about 11 minutes. She was so proud of herself and really kept a good pace throughout the entire 500.
EDITED on 1/13/14: Jayden set a pool and team record for the 1650 on Saturday!!
