EnduroPacks sent me this month-long trial pack of goodies. I started the program the week after I finished Ironman Louisville.
The month-long nutritional pack consists of a multi-vitamin, Electrolyte Spray, Glutamine Recovery Complex, and an Amino Acid Patch.
I've been taking the vitamins in the late afternoon, I put the required amount (1 tablespoon) on a spoon and drink it fast. I have to admit, I do prefer the liquid vitamins over the pill form. The taste is just as I expected --- like vitamins. But nothing terrible! Although it is Wild Berry Flavor, I don't really pick up much on that flavor. I usually wash it down with an extra glass of water -- probably can't hurt me to drink a little extra water during the day.
I take 2 Glutamine tablets just before bed --- I usually try to drink about 8 ounces of water before bed each night anyway, so these are easy for me to remember to take.
I put the pack of Amino Acid patches in my bathroom next to my comb, so when I get cleaned up from a workout - I remember to put one on. They are easy to use, just peel them off like a band aid and stick them on. The patches stay on throughout the day and they also don't rip off your skin the next day when you take them off :)
My absolute favorite part of the nutritional pack is the Electrolyte spray!!! I love the convenience of the spray bottle. During my Ironman event and training, I carried Nuun tablets and a drink mix by Scratch Labs. While they seemed to provide me the Electrolytes that I needed - the tablet and powder forms are very hard to handle on the bike and the tablets can also be hard to break in half on my run to put in my fuel belt bottles. Although I haven't tried the spray on my bike, I think it would be easy to carry in my bento box. I usually put about 5 sprays in my fuel belt bottles before a long run (8 ounce bottles). Or when I carry a larger water bottle, 16 ounces, I put about 10 sprays in the bottle. It doesn't really have much of a taste, but it's definitely not sugary - so that's good. It's got what I would describe as a "refreshing" taste. I plan to carry the spray bottle with me during the NYC marathon in about 1 month.
Overall, how do I feel? Well, first - I must admit that I feel much better than I thought I would after my Ironman event just about 1 month ago. Is it because I've been taking these supplements? I'm not really sure, but I do know that I feel great! I transitioned within a few days to my training for the NYC Marathon. I've done a couple 16 mile runs and one 18 mile run, a track workout each week, and several tempo runs. My legs and body feel great. In the past, I've dealt with tired legs on my runs but over the last month - each of my runs has been great! In fact this weekend, during my 18 mile run - I ran a personal best of 2:22 averaging 7:54 per mile! I felt great, even at mile 18!
Overall, I must say that the product is easy to use and I'm a very busy mom with 4 kids. I feel great and seem to have a lot of energy.
