yesterday, we went back to the other side of the island - hoping to check out playa bonita but it was VERY windy on that side of the island - so we went to Chen Rio which has a little inlet where the kids can play in the water/sand. in the background, you can see how big the waves were!

on our way home yesterday, we stopped back on the side of the island that we are staying on and visited Paradise Beach (notice how much calmer this side of the island is compared to the other side)--- this was as close as we were going to get to viewing a sunset here - so i snapped a quick picture. the sun sets at 6pm here and we've been back at our condo feeding 4 hungry and tired kiddos at that time.

this morning after my run - i stopped to walk along the shore near our condo. i noticed these little pools that had very tiny jellyfish in them. later in the morning, i brought the kids back to check them out. the jellyfish were as small as the tip of my pinky and also the size of the tip of my thumb! pretty cool!

this afternoon we visited some Mayan ruins. the second photo above shows some handprints there were found on one old ruins. the ruin behind us in the photo is the home of the temple of Ixchel. San Gervasio is the town where the ruins are located.
