i have an idea!

yes, it's that time again (sigh) .... i have started to potty-train myself again.....err i mean potty-train jillian. jillian did great last week while we were at the beach - she would use the bathroom before we went to the beach and a few hours later when we returned to the condo - she would use the bathroom again with no accidents in between (of course, not without the bribe of a TINY M&M and a BIG celebration on my part!).

so this morning we were home for a while and i put her in underwear (with rubber pants over them, of course!). she did great - until after lunch. she decided to ..... well.... umm.... you know.... make a "mess" in her diaper. although i was not surprised (she went and hid from me) - i decided to make a big, dramatic deal about her making a "mess" in her beautiful princess panties. i told her that we would have to throw them away and we could not possibly replace these beautiful panties. after i changed her - i proceeded to put the "soiled" items in the garbage can in her bathroom. then i continued to be dramatic about the fact that we would never be able to replace these panties - they were so beautiful, so pink, etc.

she paused for a moment and here is her response (word for word, i promise!) "hey mom, i have an idea........... we can just go to walmark (she pronounces walmart with a "K") and buy a new pair of princess panties - no problem!"

well, honestly - i was speechless! i could not believe that she (at just 2 years old) came up with this response! well - i probably shouldn't be surprised... this is the same girl that told me a few weeks ago when we were having another conversation about going on the potty --- i said to her "Jillian, when do you think you will start going on the potty?" she responded to me "Oh... next week, mom!"
