on our drive out to Washington DC we passed the Flight 93 Memorial Crash Site

The memorial is still being constructed... a museum will be built on top of one of the hills overlooking the crash site. the site where the plane crashed has been put back together after the investigation.

lunchtime!

this sign shows the flight-path

i believe they said the plane was going approximately 560 MPH when it crashed into the ground

the crash site is over my left shoulder

the rock in the background indicates the crash site

artifacts that visitors/family members have left at the site

looking to see what's under the bench :)

here you can see the crash site through the wooden gate

remember Todd Beamer? ... the people on the plane are listed here

we saw similar stone arrangements placed at the concentration camps in Germany.... even a barbed wire bracelet

the park ranger told us that he lived near the site of the crash and his wife was home that day and heard the sound of the crash.
