wife.mother.runner

i just finished running 3 miles on the treadmill in our basement.... kind of felt like running in the middle of nowhere (sturgis, mi) and really going nowhere :) at least i was running next to Ross - he was riding his bike (propped up on his indoor bike training equipment) in the middle of nowhere and also going nowhere! but hey, we're together! music was blaring from the radio - it's a good thing the kids are 2 stories up in the house :)

i wasn't really feeling my new blog title "the adventures of supermom" - because i really don't feel like a supermom --- i'm just a girl in the world (i think that's a verse in a song) so last weekend at the marathon expo, i found a button that said "wife mother runner". it really hit me - that's what i am! so for now - i have a new title for my blog! nothing can really top "the adventures of a euro-mom" though, i must admit. (i must give credit to my friend Sarah who actually came up with the phrase "euro-mom" at our going-away party in Kenosha 2 years ago!)

i thought i would share a couple bumper stickers that i bought at the expo as well as some links to the pictures and video of my races last weekend. it's hard to believe when you watch me finish the marathon (wearing a purple shirt) -- that my legs had just carried me for 39.3 miles in a little over 24 hours. this time there was no falling over the barrier like i did in Berlin :).... i ran through the finish like i was just finishing a 5k run.... it's crazy - i don't even recall Minnie Mouse being at the finish :) ... i just get in "the zone" and tune everything out. you can see in the half-marathon video (wearing a blue shirt) and photos that it was dark most of the race (the races both started at 5:30am!). in the marathon video, you can see that Hollywood Studios was actually open to the public when we ran through... at that was around 9am! i can't imagine what the later runners encountered as they ran through the parks...... not to mention people who came to visit the Disney Parks that day to find a bunch of crazy runners all over :)
