Akershus Fortress

flat stanley and the run-away jilly!
yes, jillian refused to stop pushing this stool long enough to be in the picture.... stubborn, strong-willed 4th child! the kids were able to stand on the stool to look at the ship and she thought it was her turn to take the stool while the other's were posing for the picture! smart girl!
inside view of viking ship museum
viking ship museum ... looks like a Lutheran church to me :)lunch in our hotel room! yum
Akershus Fortress.... i couldn't read all the info cards in the visitors center because i was busy chasing the kids - but this is a castle/fortress that dates back to 1200 - but it was also used as a prison and then again during WWII by the Germans. this is a photo of the main castle and church within the castle (see picture labeled Aekershus Fortress above - something happened when i uploaded the photos)
yep - this photo pretty much sums up our day.... soggy and wet! oh and the leaves are fally which can only mean that fall is on it's way! i even captured some raindrops hitting the puddle in my picture!
jayden and helen
fun with the 10 second timer on the camera... a guy offered to take our picture - but i said no because we were having too much fun - trying to capture our own picture... we had at least 5 outtakes
jayden noticed this ship in the harbor and shouted - the pirates are coming!
late this evening we were riding the tram up to Frogner Park - and i noticed
the Nobel Peace Prize Building from the tram window.... so i said "kids - this is our stop!" - we jumped out ... took a few pictures... and jumped back on the next tram to Frogner Park
frogner park - a stop that Rick Steves recommends while touring Oslo! we finally got a break from the rain this evening - so we took a tram up to Frogner Park

now that's a lot of kids!
a rainbow appeared (look closely in the center of the picture)as we were leaving Frogner Park
excuse the uncensored photo - but you have to laugh at the face on this toddler.... i noticed that his hand was bronze in color... then i realized it is because everyone reaches up for his hand to pose for a photo... i saw at least 3 people doing this while i waited to take a photo ---- i personally have touched enough screaming toddler's hands - i did not need to touch this one :)
