Tour de France

this weekend the Tour de France began in Rotterdam, Netherlands. On Saturday, we had planned to go to the time trials in Rotterdam however it was pouring rain when it was time for us to leave. At first we thought... really!?!.... how bad could a little rain storm be??? so after lunch, we loaded up the bikes and the kids and headed to the train station. After 2 minutes of biking and being literally soaked - i turned to Ross and said... I think we should go home! After a few minutes on contemplation... we decided it was best to go home. 4 kids and being soaked in the rain was not my idea of FUN.

Sunday morning - we decided to drive down to Beligium to catch a portion of the race.... I'm so glad we waited... the weather was much better on Sunday. We drove to a small town in Belgium called Kapellen. We had a picnic lunch in a park near the race route and then found our spot along the route to try and catch a glimpse of Lance Armstrong!!
It was so amazing to see the Tour de France in person.... the caravan was fun to watch and then in a matter of about 45 seconds - the peloton flew by us! I did not see Lance Armstrong... .but the experience was AWESOME!!!!
