Lincoln Park Zoo

I have lived in the Chicago area for 10 years now and finally made my first trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo! After all, it's free admission :) I've run past the zoo twice - doing the Chicago Marathon twice. On Friday, Ross took the day off work and we visited the zoo and met up with my sister-in-law. It was cold! I think we'll go back later this summer when the weather is warmer :)

Timber Creek Farms

One of my friends told me about this company that delivers organic produce right to your front door! They also deliver organic milk in glass bottles! It tastes soooo good! They also offer free range meat (a must if you saw the Oprah special last fall)

I received all this fruit/veggies, 2 gallons of 1% milk, half gallon of chocolate milk, OJ, half gallon of whole milk, cheese, eggs, and 1 pound of ground turkey - for $65!!!! Everything is VERY fresh - but not over-ripe. The prices are very reasonable too!

kenosha marathon!

if this isn't inspiration... i don't know what is :) here's what the finishers medal looks like for the kenosha marathon on may 2nd.

my training is going pretty well.... trying to survive many miles split between an indoor track and treadmill. although, i'm excited that the weather is better now. i'll admit, i haven't done all my training runs, but i'm doing pretty good keeping up with the miles... even if i have to split the run up into 2 days... after all - i know i can make the 26.2 miles... i've done 10 marathons before :) i've just been a little stressed lately on the days that i know i can't get my entire run completed. on the bright side, i only have 12 miles tomorrow. then 18 next weekend, back down to 14 and then my big 20 miler before the down-hill taper begins :) i can't believe may is around the corner already. i'm taking the summer off from marathons - that's for sure!!! i think i'll do a little swimming :)

now i'm off to play mario cart with ross!!!! (HIS new game for the family...yeah right!)

st paddy's day

at the boy's preschool, some leprachauns visted while they were playing outside. these 'little guys' apparently messed up their classrooms, used the potty (green pee), and then left candy treats for the kids. it was so funny to hear the boys talk about these leprachauns and tell the story over and over and over again :)

This morning (while Graham was in school) - Helen, Jayden, and I rode the trolley. Tonight, Graham and Helen were reading books together.

She loves her brothers so much! (She calls Jayden "JD" and Graham "MMMMa").

Imagine this piano room filled with women and little girls at my Matilda Jane Trunk Show on Sunday. I had an awesome turnout!!!!!! Thanks to all who stopped by. The show was so busy from 12:30 - 3:30pm (my show technically started at 1pm!) that I didn't even get to snap a picture of all the people in the room! :) I had so much fun sharing my love of Matilda Jane Clothes with everyone. Helen was so tired from playing with the little girls and running around that she was in bed by 6pm! That's VERY early for her :)
